Fresh Normal Indian Passport in a month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, Fresh normal passport in a month and it is possible. I had applied for passport on 6th August 2012 and got it today 6th September 2012, Exactly 30 days.
I had searched all over the internet finding information/experiences in order to get a fresh normal passport ( Not TATKAL, there are plenty of post out there as in how to obtain a tatkal passport in 7 days) But failed in finding information related to my case.

So here is my complete experience and the steps followed by me to receive passport in 30 days.

STEP 1 : DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

If a person is born after the year 1988, Birth Certificate is a must.
So these are the documents that were needed for my passport

  1. Birth Certificate : Please ensure that all the names(Fathers Name, Mothers Name and Your Name) in your Birth certificate are correct/matches with the online form which you have filled They (TCS people)  flatly reject your form if it doesnt matches.
Incase if names on your birth certificate are wrong all you have to do is make an affidavit namely "Change of name". A specimen Copy of the same is given in the Annexure /Affidavit section of the website
    www.passportindia.gov.in
  2. SSC/HSC/ GRADUATION Mark-sheets (Any one will do)
  3. Bank Statement : Do remember your bank account should be atleast a year older.
Incase you don't have a bank account you can be joint account holder of your parents Bank account. This process takes anything between 1 to 7 days. In-case if there's no bank account of any of your family member you can submit employers letters stating Mr/Ms. XYZ resident of ABC(full address) has been working since..... [ I am not pretty much sure about the employers letter but that's one of the option, though Bank account is a foolproof one]
Alright So all are documents are ready now lets got to step no. 2

STEP 2:  SCHEDULING APPOINTMENT

I assume all must have created their respective account on www.passportindia.gov.in an submitted a completely filled online form.

Appointments are issued every day at 7.30 pm sharp. So its highly recommended you beg, borrow steal or just do anything and be be online at sharp 7.30 pm only because of a simple reason that within half an hour all the appointments slots get filled.

STEP 3: D-DAY or APPOINTMENT DAY

Please be present at PSK at your respective reporting time. No need of going an hour before and standing. Just be present at your reporting time

STEP 4 : TOKEN

Once you have entered the main office (PLEASE NOTE, THE GUARDS WILL ONLY ALLOW YOU TO ENTER AT YOUR APPOINTMENT DAY AND AT YOUR APPOINTMENT TIME )
the 1st step is Issuance of token.
the TCS staff member will ask you for the 3 documents which i mentioned in STEP 1. He will scan it and then issue you a token

Once the token is received you can move inside into the waiting room.

TIME TAKEN : APPROX 1 hour

STEP 5 : Counter A ------->  Counter B --------> Counter C

Counter A (TCS employees)  : At the counter A again the 3 documents which were mentioned will be verified. Your finger prints will be taken, your photograph and signature too will be taken. and all the details will be checked thoroughly. Rs 1000(for 36 pg passport) will be collected here. and a recipt will be given

TIME TAKEN : APPROX 15 mins

Counter B (Government Officials) : Verification Counter. Same three documents will be checked.

TIME TAKEN : 20 mins, WAITING PERIOD FOR THIS : 45 mins

Counter C : Granting Counter : Again a final verification by the granting officer and your work
is done.

TIME TAKEN : 20 Mins

Now after Counter C take the acknowledgement slip and then exit.

TOTAL TIME : Approximately 2-3 Hours

SO FAR SO GOOD.

Since for fresh passport the type of police verification is pre. i.e. without police verification passport wont be issued.

STEP 6 : POLICE VERIFICATION
AFTER 7- 10 days: go to the police station which you have mentioned in the application form.

100 % your application must have reached the police station by this time.

POLICE WILL NEVER PURPOSELY DELAY YOUR PASSPORT WORK. INFACT IF YOU DO REQUEST THEM (IN A MILD TONE)  TO HELP YOU, THEY SURELY WILL DO. Some times you might have to give chai pani. but that's okay!!!

  1. So from the police station the file is sent to the nearest BEAT ( SMALL POLICE STATION AT EVERY ROAD.. IN MUMBAI ). The police officer will give us the complete where about of our application form and with whom it is available at the respective beat
  2. Meet the Constable who has your File. Convince him to please verify quickly as its urgent. They will surely try to do it as soon as possible. Infact, if your lucky can be done in 1 day
    ( That's What Happened With Me ).
  3. The Next Day you have to be physically present at the police station for verification interview
HERE, MANY DOCUMENTS WILL BE REQUIRED.
    LIGHT BILL
    LETTER FROM BUILDING SECRETARY
    DRIVING LICENSE
    PAN CARD
    RATION CARD, etc

DON'T WORRY THE CONSTABLE WILL HELP YOU BY GIVING YOU A LIST OF DOCUMENTS TO GET AT THE VERIFICATION INTERVIEW.
Request the officer to quickly forward it to the S.P Office.

After the interview, It will take approximately 1 week to reach S.P/CID office.
  4. Now If you really want your passport urgently you need to visit this place at-least once,
meet the clerk who handles the documentation work of passport.
ASK them about the how much time will be required and REQUEST them to please forward it to the PASSPORT REGIONAL OFFICE SOON.

Time taken, Approximately 1 WEEK if all the documents are Cleared..
    Passport now reaches Passport Office.
  5. SO till now 10+7+7 = 24 days are over after the submission of form.
  6. Now its the time to relax and check all the status on the TRACK APPLICATION.
Your passport will take Approximately 7 Days to reach you...
Incase it does not, do visit the passport office once(It never happened in my case ).In mumbai it is in WORLI.

TOTAL TIME TAKEN : 31 DAYS

keeping track of your application is very important. Passport is an important document and going to stay with you for life, So why not spend 4-5 days of your busy schedule visiting the police station and passport office

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. Please Ignore Grammatical Errors, If any. Thank You!!!!
